Surface Supplied Diver

Today, as a part of our training as volunteers divers for the California Academy of Sciences, we were certified in Surface Supplied Diving!

Our training was a full day and consisted of classroom instruction/theory as well as two dives within the Amazon Flooded Rainforest Exhibit that covered four exercises.

The Amazon exhibit is absolutely amazing to dive; diving with the arapaima was fantastic! One small fish, similar to a garibaldi, was irritated I was present within the tank, taking small nibbles at my boots. I learned that climbing over the glass tunnel in the exhibit is not so easy!
